There are two reasons for this. I rarely have enough room in my freezer to keep it in there for the 24 hours it requires to freeze up. Secondly ice cream is an event for me and I have fond childhood ice cream memories of walking to the local ice cream shop on hot summer evenings. There is something so perfectly summer about walking to the ice cream shop. But you are making me think I need to make some room in my freezer. I have an ice cream maker but I hardly ever use it.
