Avid readers will remember that last year I went peach picking with some friends at Homestead Farms. Well this year I went peach picking with all the Ladies who make up the staff at Treet. We did it as a slightly belated birthday celebration for moi – and as a way for the staff to get a little fun time outside the kitchen.
I was much more restrained than last year – picking a mere 13 pounds of peaches (last year I picked more than 20 pounds). I’m not quite sure what I’ll do with them yet – are there any reader requests? I’ve been learning how to make pâte brisée (aka the French pie crust) in pastry class, and that kind of begs for a peach pie, don’t you think?
