November: It’s High Time For Pie

Caramel Apple Walnut Pie


Hey Peeps – it’s been awhile since I posted, I know. Let’s just say that things have been a little crazy – Treet is moving up to New York and, since I have no desire to live in New York, I’ve been trying to figure out what I’m going to do with myself these days. For the next few weeks you still find out Treets at Tynan Coffee and Tea, Mr. Yogato, and on the Eat Wonky food truck, so get them while you can.

Halloween passed in a blur, leaving me no time to make Halloween confections – a serious disappointment, to be sure. But I have higher hopes for Thanksgiving.

Speaking of which, Thanksgiving forces us to focus on that all American of desserts – the pie. Apple, pumpkin, cranberry – November is really a solid pie month.

So below are some pie recipes to get you in shape for the big Thanksgiving pie fiesta. The caramel apple pie is one of my faves, but don’t dismiss the hand pies. You get the same pie experience – crust, filling, deliciousness – in a small hand-held package. And wouldn’t pumpkin hand pies be a lovely variation for Thanksgiving? See, I’m already totally excited about this Month of Pie.
